Family Of 40 Captures Precious Memories Together

Taking pictures is one way to document special memories and also the people we hold dear. For one family in Singapore, a photoshoot was their chance to capture precious moments while they still could. Four generations of the family showed up for the event — from the grandmother to her great-grandchildren.
The Love Studios captured the joyous moments that followed through a TikTok clip.
The family shared some high points of the photoshoot and their motivations behind it.
1. How many generations of the family were involved in the shoot?
We are a 4 generation family consisting of - great-grandma, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
2. What were some memorable moments and high points during the photoshoot?
Firstly, The Love Studios crew understood the task! Malcolm, the photographer is creative and comfortable at directing and guiding us on how to go about the shoot despite the huge and loud crowd. He also knows how to interact with his subjects well, making all of us feel at ease. He made jokes to help us lighten the mood, thus the lively photos.
We also couldn’t help but notice that the crew was very lovely and handy with the kids while the adults were busy shooting. We had so much fun and laughter throughout the whole shoot. Towards the end of the shoot, as everyone got comfortable, we even managed to pose for a more silly and playful shot. Overall, we had such a good time and knew we made the right decision to have a family shoot.
3. Who coordinated the family members’ outfits?
Our family loves to colour-coordinate our outfits for big events such as weddings. The moment we decided on doing a photoshoot, we sat down and had our ‘family meeting’ on suitable colours. After researching The Love Studios’ style guide, we decided to go ahead with the earth tone palette. Our mothers (the 2nd oldest generation) as well as our grandmother, were the most excited. They even went shopping together to make sure the colours match!
4. Was there a special occasion or celebration that prompted this family shoot?
We decided on this photoshoot as a memorable token for our grandmother’s birthday. As life is fleeting and our family is growing, we will never know what the future holds. We want to treasure the present and the time we have with each other, and the best way is to capture and hang it on our living room walls. 😅
